Victoria University International Scholarships for Foreign Students in Australia

Victoria University (VU) is proud to support around 400 international scholarship recipients and sponsored students. VU has a range of externally-funded and university-funded scholarships schemes to support students. Their courses for international students include TAFE through to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and higher degrees by research.

A scholarship provides financial assistance during your study. Some scholarships provide a stipend that covers tuition fees and living allowances, while others provide only partial funding.

Available scholarship programs include:

  • VU International Excellence Scholarship
  • VU College Diploma Merit Scholarship
  • VU Master of Counselling Global Scholarship 2020
  • Australian government-funded
  • International government-funded

 

Benefits

  • VU International VCE Scholarship
    • The International VCE Scholarship recognises and rewards international student achievement in their VCE with A$3,000 for the first two study periods and up to A$12,000 towards the total tuition fees.
  • VU International Excellence Scholarship
    • VET: A$750 per semester and up to A$3,000 towards the total tuition fees.
    • Undergraduate: A$3,000 for the first two study periods and up to A$12,000 towards the total tuition fees.
    • Postgraduate: A$3,000 for the first two study periods and up to A$6,000 towards tuition fees.
  • VU College Diploma Merit Scholarship
    • $2,000 grant for the second semester of studies (please note this is not applicable for sponsored students)
  • VU Master of Counselling Global Scholarship 2020
    • A$3000 per year; up to A$6000 towards tuition fees.

      To receive the full A$6000 scholarship, students must be enrolled as a full-time student and maintain a 70 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) in each semester.

  • Australian government-funded
    • Australia Awards fellowships : up to $25,000
    • Australia Awards scholarships : tuition fees, living allowance, Overseas Student Health Cover and academic support.
  • International government-funded
    • The Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait scholarships : tuition fees, living allowance and Overseas Student Health Cover.
    • The Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia scholarships : tuition fees, living allowance and Overseas Student Health Cover

Eligibility

  • VU International VCE Scholarship
    • Students must have completed their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2019 with an ATAR higher than 50.00, and be applying for entry into a Victoria University bachelor degree commencing in 2020.
    • Recipients must be enrolled in a full-time load (48 credit points in each study period) and maintain a 60 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) across the two previous study periods, calculated after the completion of every 96 credit points, in order to receive the scholarship in subsequent semester
  • VU International Excellence Scholarship
    • Undergraduate applicants from: Mauritius, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, China
      • You must enrol in a full-time load (48 credit points in each study period) and maintain a 60 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) across the two previous study periods, calculated after the completion of every 96 credit points, in order to receive the scholarship in subsequent semesters
    • Postgraduate applicants from: India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nigeria, Kenya, Indonesia, Mauritius, Vietnam, the Philippines and China.
      • You must be enrolled in a full-time load (48 credit points in each study period) and maintain a 60 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) across the two previous study periods, calculated after the completion of every 96 credit points, in order to receive the scholarship in subsequent semesters.
  • VU College Diploma Merit Scholarship
    • Study level: higher education diploma in Business (Enterprise), Information Technology or Engineering
      Eligibility: academic achievement with at least a distinction in each unit in first semester of a diploma at VU College in Melbourne
  • VU Master of Counselling Global Scholarship 2020
    • All applicants commencing studies in Melbourne, who have achieved at least 5% higher than the standard academic requirement in an undergraduate degree from a recognised university. Please note that the scholarship is not applicable for sponsored students and applicants awarded advanced standing into masters degrees
  • Australian government-funded
    • Australia Awards fellowships : Australian organisations who are legal entities with an Australian Business Number (ABN) with links to overseas counterpart organisations in eligible developing countries may apply for an Australia Awards Fellowship.
    • Australia Awards scholarships : citizen of an participating country.
  • International government-funded
    • The Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait scholarships : citizen of Kuwait.
    • The Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia scholarships : citizen of Saudi Arabia.
