Apply for the KNB Indonesian Government Scholarships for International Students 2024. The Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship is a financial assistance offered by the Indonesian Government to International students from developing countries. This scholarship programme offers students the opportunity to pursue their Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degree at an Indonesian University. Scholarships are particularly dedicated to students from NAM member countries.
Scholars selected for the KNB scholarships will have the opportunity to peruse their studies at top Indonesian universities. The scholarship will also offer you an experience in a new environment and culture, and at the same time living in one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant society. The KNB scholarship opens the opportunity to experience life in the culturally most diverse nation in the world while studying and earning a master degree.
If selected for the scholarship, you will have the opportunity to earn your Bachelor, Master and Doctorate Degree at one of 16 prominent universities in Indonesia. Up to until 2017, KNB had offered up to 992 scholarships to students coming from 71 developing countries around the world. Applicants will have to compete a 1 year Indonesian Language preparatory course before beginning their studies.
Benefits
Successful candidates will receive the following benefits under scholarship terms
- You will receive a settlement Allowance worth IDR 1,500,000 upon your arrival in Indonesia.
- Scholars will receive full support for the full duration of their Indonesian language course and preparatory programs, including a Living Allowance and a book allowance.
- You will also be eligible for a health insurance with a maximum of IDR 400,000 monthly premium
- Selected applicants will receive a round-trip international airfare from their home countries to their host Universities
- KNB students will receive a monthly stipend to cover their daily living expenses
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered for the scholarship
- The program have been widely offered to students, not only to the NAM member countries but also to other developing countries (Please see full list here)
- You must not be older than 25 years for Bachelor’s, 35 years for Master’s and 40 years for Doctorate degree
- Applicants applying for a Bachelor’s degree must :
- Hold a high school leaving certificate at the time of application
- Present proof of English language proficiency in form of IBT TOEFL of 80 or IELTS with 6.0
- Applicant applying for a master’s degree program must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree at the time of application
- Present proof of English language proficiency in form of IBT TOEFL of 80 or IELTS with 6.0
- Applicant applying for a doctorate degree scholarship must:
- Hold a Master’s degree at the time of application
- Present proof of English language proficiency in form of IBT TOEFL of 890 or IELTS with 7.0
Application
Applications fpr the scholarships must be conducted online through the KNB Scholarship. You are advised to follow the procedure bele in order to complete your application
- Applicants must first download the Invitation Letter from the KNB Scholarship website
- You must then submit the Invitation letter together with your Passport, all the required Academic Certificates and Academic Transcripts, to the Indonesian Embassy or Indonesian Consulate in your country.
- The Indonesian Embassy will then verify the documents and issues you a recommendation letter which will be needed to compete your scholarship application
- You must then go ahead and complete the online application process
- You will also need to provide an Academic Recommendation Letter from previous schools
