Apply for the Japanese Government MEXT University Recommendation Scholarship at Asia Pacific university. The Japan scholarship 2024 for international students named as MEXT Japan Scholarship is open to students who wish to enrol in a Master’s degree programme at APU in Japan. With this scholarship, you can apply for your preferred Masters degree programme offered at the University.
This scholarship is awarded to outstanding international students who are recommended by APU. The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) provides this scholarship with the aim of enhancing the international competitiveness and promoting the active exchange of international students in Japanese universities.
APU selected and recommend admitted students to the MEXT selection committee which makes the final selection decision on scholarship recipients. Therefore, the first step is to apply for admission for one of the Master’s degree programmes offered at APU
Benefits
Selected Applicants will be eligible for the following benefits
- You will receive a 100% of tuition for your selected degree programme (covered by the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship)
- Applicants will receive up to 144,000 JPY per month for living expenses for the entire duration of your stay in Japan.
- Selected students will receive facilitation for an Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to candidates who fulfill the following application conditions
- The scholarship is dedicated to international students who wish to study in Japan.
- Eligible applicants are non-Japanese students who are national of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan
- Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1990
- You must demonstrate excellent academic performance with a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at your most recent university
- Applicants must not have received a MEXT scholarship in the past unless they have more than 3 years of educational research experience after the final payment of the previous MEXT scholarship award
Application
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must first apply to APU. APU will then select eligible candidates to recommend to the scholarship organization. Interested applicants are advised to follow the procedure below in order to submit their applications
- You must Submit your APU application (General Application for admission) by November 13, 2024. Please not that additional documents are not required to be considered for this scholarship.
- The APU selection committee will review application documents and selects outstanding candidates to recommend to MEXT program
- If selected among the successful candidates, you will be recommended for this scholarship and will be notified with the final APU application results
- Selected applicants will complete and submit additional MEXT (SGU) application documents to APU
- The final scholarship award results will be decided by MEXT
