The Arqus Talent Scholarship Fund is sponsored by the Arqus European University Alliance. The Arqus European University Alliance is a partnership of 9 European Universities namely: Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Maynooth, Minho, Padua, Vilnius and Wroclaw. The main aim of the scholarship is to attract and retain talent at postgraduate level from around the world.
The scholarship is offered for Doctoral Studies to talented eligible scholars who are planning to peruse Doctoral studies at one of the partner Universities. Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree and have secured admission for Doctoral studies at one of the above mentioned universities. Apart form your Doctoral Studies at your home university, scholars will also participate in a compulsory mobility at a second Arqus partner university.
Applications are open from students from all over the world regardless of their country of Origin. Refugees and asylum seekers re particularly encouraged to apply and also students who achieved their Master’s degree form a university other than a Arqus European University Alliance partner university will be given priority.
Benefits
The Arqus Talent Scholarship Fund covers the following.
- The scholarship offers a subsistence allowance worth 1,400€ per month
- The grant is intended to cover the your living costs, medical insurance and a materials allowance.
- The scholarship will also cover the tuition fee at the your entrance university.
- You may also be eligible for a special needs fund worth 250€ per month.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following conditions in order to apply for the scholarships
- Applicants must have applied for a doctoral programme at one of the Arqus partner universities.
- You must have achieved a minimum overall/average grade of B according to the ECTS grading system.
- First-year doctoral students at Vilnius University and the University of Wroclaw may also apply.
- Applicants must have a clear idea of how a mobility at a second Arqus university can be integrated into their studies programme and elaborate it in your motivation statement.
- You must have sufficient language proficiency equivalent to a B2 in one of the languages of the Alliance
Application
Applicants must submit their applications via the online application portal provided. The deadline for submission of the online application is May 31, 2023. For a complete application, you must upload the following documents.
- A confirmation of application to the entrance university for a doctoral programme at one of the Arqus universities
- Motivation statement expressing your passion and reasons to apply for the scholarships.
- You must also submit a PhD research proposal
- You must upload your Bachelors and Masters diplomas and degree certificate from your previous studies.
- Transcript of transcript of records/diploma supplement of your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from your previous studies.
- Submit a signed letter of recommendation from an academic of your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme.
- You must also submit a recent Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing your practical experiences and extra-curricular activities.
- A copy of your Passport
- Submit a proof of Language proficiency equivalent to atleast a level B
